It is always interesting when fashion styles cycle around, and return to favor again. Some designers virtually make exact copies of old styles, some turn into parodies of past styles, but a few designers have a knack for truly capturing the essence of past styles, combining that with a very modern look and feel, and bringing something special to the table.
A great case in point is Diane Von Furstenberg’s DVF 801S sunglass. There was a point in time where virtually every woman wearing glasses HAD to have to have temples that came off the bottom of the frame. That look has been lovingly reborn in this retro chic sunglass, with oversize lenses. The shape is very rare in that it looks good on almost EVERYONE! The temple has a subtle glitter accent that upon close inspection turns out to be the DVF logo, almost a tongue-in-cheek mocking of the whole logo thing. The use of laminated plastics and rich tinted metal showcases rich colors to go with any complexion.
These sunglasses are great as is, but they are also fabulous for prescription sunglasses with their terrific coverage. And – yes, there’s more – these frames are actually comfortable! And that’s what I like about the DVT 801S. Available at Diane Von Furstenberg dealers.
